You probably understand there are many things you’ll need to do to keep your teeth and gums healthy and strong. For instance, you may know that brushing and flossing are very important. You probably also understand that you should set up at least two appointments within a year. These appointments will give us the opportunity to recognize certain dental issues that you may not be able to spot yourself. You should also inspect your own smile and contact us if you see anything that worries you. You should also watch for cavities, but do you know the signs you should be watching for?
Fortunately, there are many different of signs you might be able to identify. As you may have guessed, a common sign of tooth decay is a pain in your mouth. You could also have a cavity if you are experiencing pain when you chew. Sensitive teeth is another problem you should watch for, as are black or brown spots, or visible holes in your pearly whites. If you identify any of these signs, we suggest contacting us as soon as you can.
Please remember that these symptoms may be pretty difficult to notice on your own. In fact, you’ll often recognize pain and tenderness before you spot any dental issues because cavities and tooth decay often form on your back teeth. This is usually because your back teeth are actually much harder to clean than your front teeth simply because they can be a lot more difficult to reach and to clean very thoroughly.
